ABOUT THE WCD
WCD is new to the Western Canadian Darts Circuit - our first tournament was in October 2018 in Didsbury Alberta.
One of our goals is to become the arena for Western Canada's best players to sharpen their skills before taking the game to the next level. Whether a players desire is to compete Nationally for Canada or venture to the UK for professional try outs, the WCD will provide a venue to play more tournaments, more often - with a longer format and more players taking home prize money.
WCD Darts emerged out of a pursuit to support and promote the sport of Darts, for all players in Western Canada, Giving all players a chance to play more tournaments throughout the year, play longer formats to increase their level of play - as well as encourage and train consistency all while ensuring players get more darts thrown for their entry fee. The WCD uses an order of merit based ranking system to ensure the more players that enter into a tournament, the more get something back, with payouts ranging between 35% and 75% of participants. By the end of Season 4 the WCD had paid out $8,000 to it's players with 55% of participants taking home money per event. The other main goal of the WCD is the creation and execution of a full season Youth Program, The WCD is working with Alberta's youth players - in season 1 the WCD sponsored a youth player that was not otherwise able to attend events, including the Provincials. The WCD is eager to provide it's own youth program to engage Alberta's youth to participate in a fun inclusive activity, that will help build friendships and other life skills, while also giving players an opportunity to challenge themselves.
